Ahead of the start of the 104th National Games on 13 October, preliminary games including handball will be held in various parts of Jeollanam-do.
According to Jeonnam Province on Wednesday, the pre-games will begin with a handball match at Muan Sports Park on 23 September, followed by bowling matches at Dream Bowling Centre and Daehwa Bowling Centre in Mokpo on 15 September.
Next month, badminton will be held at Hwasun Hanium Culture and Sports Centre on September 9, hockey at Mokpo Hockey Stadium on September 10 and billiards at Mokpo Maritime University on September 11.
The preliminary games are held before the Games for sports that are difficult to compete in during the Games as the majority of athletes participate in events related to qualifying for the Olympic Games, according to the National Sports Competition Regulations.
From May to August, Jeollanam-do conducted a self-inspection of all the venues for the Games and prepared measures for transport, medical care, hygiene, accommodation, and amenities to ensure that there were no problems with the pre-Games.
The 104th National Games will be held for seven days from 13 to 19 October in 70 venues in 22 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do, centred on Mokpo.
The 43rd National Para Games will be held in 38 venues in 12 cities and counties for six days 스포츠토토존 from 3 to 8 November with 31 events.
