The war begins for the last ticket to the Paris Olympics.
From the 3rd, the men’s basketball qualifying tournament for the 2024 Paris Olympics will be held in Spain, Latvia, Greece and Puerto Rico.
A total of 12 teams will participate in men’s basketball competitions at the Paris Olympics, which will kick off in late July. Eight spots have already been decided. Along with France, the host country, the U.S., Germany, Japan, Canada, Serbia, South Sudan and Australia have joined the teams with top performance in each continent at the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
As many as 24 countries will clash for the remaining four spots. Qualifying tournaments will be held in four different countries – Valencia, Latvia, Liga, Greece’s Piraeus and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Six teams will be assigned to each region, and the winner will be decided in two groups through a tournament method. The winning team will eventually advance to the Paris Olympics. 메이저사이트
NBA superstars will also make an appearance in the final qualifying round. Finland’s Lowry Makanen and Latvia’s Kristaps Porzingis failed to participate, but Luca Doncic, Janis Antetokounmpo and Domantas Sabonis were listed.
The name that attracts the most attention is Doncic. Doncic, who is serious about playing for the national team, has been going all the way to the NBA Finals since last year’s World Cup, but soon started hunting for tickets to the Paris Olympics.
Doncic made the cut at the Tokyo Olympics for the first time in history to bring Slovenia to the finals. “We’re getting used to going back to European basketball mode,” Doncic said. “Our only goal is to the Olympics. Everyone remembers what happened three years ago at the qualifying tournament.”
If Slovenia passes Group A of the regional preliminary round in Greece consisting of Croatia and New Zealand, it will participate in a tournament in which teams in Group B will play together. The two superstars, Antetokounmpo and Doncic of Greece, who own home advantage, will also have a showdown.
Antetokounmpo did not play well in the last NBA Playoffs due to his injury, but he will participate in the qualifying round for this year’s Olympics. He is Antetokounmpo’s Greece, which has elevated his physical condition through warm-up matches ahead of the recent Olympic qualifying round.
Players familiar to Korean fans will also participate in the qualifying tournament.
LG’s Asem Marei has been excluded from the roster of Egypt, but Omari Spellman, who used to play in the Jeonggwanjang, will join the Lebanon national team. Spellman, who had been agonizing over his weight loss, appeared in a completely different body in a friendly match with Lithuania. Carl Tamayo of the Philippines, who will serve as LG’s Asia quarter starting this upcoming season, will also join the team.
Meanwhile, unlike men’s basketball, 12 Olympic teams have already been selected for women’s basketball. France, China, Puerto Rico, Belgium, Nigeria, Australia, Germany, Serbia, Japan, Spain, and Canada will participate in the event, including the U.S. that will absolutely win the first place.
