Unlicensed gambling company traffic increases in Sweden

AB Travoch Galop’s new report shows a 10-fold increase in web traffic to Sweden’s unlicensed gaming company. Covering the period from Q1 2019 to Q3 2023, the report highlights the growing and worrying trends in the gaming industry.

ATG CEO Hasse Lord Skarplöth said, “The trend is worrying. Our investigation shows weaknesses in the current regulatory framework and how difficult it is to stay away from unlicensed companies.”

It is not illegal for unlicensed companies to enter the Swedish market, but marketing to Swedish consumers is illegal, and many people do so anyway. Non-licensed gambling companies are not covered by Swedish consumer protection.

Hasse Lord Skarplöth says, “As long as a gambling company’s unauthorized operation in the Swedish gambling market is more than cost-effective, we don’t have consumer protection to brag about.”

The main findings of the report are as follows: 온라인카지노

  • Since 2019, visitor traffic from Sweden to unlicensed companies has increased tenfold.
  • In the third quarter of 2023, two groups, Infineza Limited and North Point Management Limited, accounted for 60% of this traffic.
  • Of the 20 most visited unlicensed sites, 18 are using the same game provider as licensed companies.
