The 12th MBN Women’s Sports Awards, a celebration of the hottest female athletes of 2023, will be held on December 5 at 11 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel.

The MBN Women’s Sports Award was first established in 2012 to revitalize sports and encourage female athletes.

Each month, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) is selected, and at the end of the year, eight categories are awarded to athletes who have contributed to raising the profile of women’s sports in Korea throughout the year, including the Grand Prize, Best, Excellent, Popular, Fair Player, Young Player, Challenge, and Special Awards.

This year’s ceremony will feature a number of female sports stars from the Hangzhou Asian Games.

Among them are three-time archery gold medalist Lim Im-hyun (Korea Gymnastics), Shin Yoo-bin (Korean Air), who won the first women’s doubles gold medal in table tennis in 21 years, Choi In-jung (Gyeryong City Hall), who won her last two fencing gold medals, Park Hye-jung (Goyang City Hall), who won her first gold medal in weightlifting in 13 years, and Cha Ye-eun (Kyung Hee University), who won gold in taekwondo Poomsae.

In addition, rhythmic gymnastics “Little Son Yeon-jae” Son Ji-jin (Sejong High School), the women’s ice hockey team that won promotion to Division 1 Group A at the World Championships, Hangzhou Para Asian Games table tennis triple champion Seo Soo-yeon, and Hwang Yoo-min, who competed for this year’s KLPGA Rookie of the Year, will also attend the ceremony.

National Assembly Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee Chairman Lee Sang-heon, Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Jang Jang-ran, Chairman Cho Hyun-jae, President of the Korea Sports Promotion Organization, Yoon Sung-wook, Secretary General of the Korea Sports Federation, and President of the Korea Women’s Sports Association, Im Sang-ja, are also expected to attend the ceremony. 먹튀검증
