H2 DREAM SAMCHEOK TOPS WOMEN’S GO TO ADVANCE DIRECTLY TO THE CHAMPIONSHIPS

H2 DREAM Samcheok topped the regular season in the Women’s Go League to advance directly to the championship match.

H2 DREAM Samcheok defeated Seoul Bugwang Pharmaceuticals 3-0 in the final 14th round of the 2023 NHBank Korea Women’s Go League Regular Season at the Korea Origin Center in Majang-ro, Seongdong-gu on the afternoon of the 19th.

With the win, H2 DREAM Samcheok clinched first place with 10 wins and 4 losses in the regular season. Bugwang Pharmaceuticals lost their final match but still managed to qualify for the semi-finals with seven wins and seven losses.

Pohang POSCO Future M (9-5) and Seogwipo Chilsimli (8-6) finished 2-3 and qualified for the postseason. In individual results, Yeosu World Island Expo captain Kim Eun-ji, the “genius Go girl,” became the first multi-winner with 11 wins and 2 losses.

Cho Seung-ah (Seogwipo Chilsimli) and Kim Kyung-eun (POSCO Future M) tied for second place with 10 wins and 4 losses, while Choi Jung (Boryeong Mud) finished with 10 wins and 2 losses.

The Women’s Go League postseason kicks off with a semi-final matchup between third-ranked Seogwipo Chilsim and fourth-ranked Seoul Bugwang Pharm at 7 p.m. on April 25.

The winner of the semifinals will face second-place Pohang POSCO Future M in a best-of-three best-of-five playoff starting on the 28th for a spot in the championship match.

The championship match, also a best-of-three series, will begin on Nov. 8.The prize fund for the 2023 NH Bank Korea Women’s Go League is 55 million won for the winner and 슬롯게이밍 35 million won for the runner-up.
