Footballer Hwang Ui-jo, who is under investigation for allegedly filming himself illegally, has been summoned by prosecutors.
According to SBS on Tuesday, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office is investigating Hwang as a suspect in violation of the Sexual Violence Punishment Act.
Hwang is suspected of illegal filming and secondary sexual assault. He is also accused of disclosing identifying information that could lead to the victim’s identification in a statement he made last November.
Earlier, in June last year, Hwang filed a police complaint against a netizen who claimed to be his former lover and shared photos and videos of Hwang and the women on social media, accusing him of blackmail and other charges.
However, during the investigation, police discovered the circumstances of her illegal filming and turned her into a suspect, sending the case to prosecutors in February this year.
The person who threatened Ms. Hwang was her brother-in-law, Mr. A. Mr. A was indicted in December last year and sentenced to three years in prison in the first trial. The prosecution recently asked the court to “sentence him to four years in prison” in the second trial.
In addition to this case, Mr. Hwang is also suspected of illegal filming. “Mr. Huang has not committed any illegal filming, and the allegations that he has committed multiple illegal filming are completely unfounded,” said Mr. Huang’s legal representative, adding, “Mr. Huang is the only person whose face and identity were exposed in his brother’s dissemination crime, and he is the main victim of the crime.”
“During the police investigation, 13 communication devices, including personal and business cell phones and PCs, as well as the communication devices of Mr. Huang’s brother and other close acquaintances were also seized, but no illegal videos were found,” he added. 사설토토
