Tomohiro Okada is already a director of the Hong Kong private company Okada Holdings, the parent company of Universal Entertainment.

The latter group controls Tiger Resort, Leasure and Entertainment Inc (TRLEI), the founder of the Philippine capital Okada Manila Casino Resort.

A statement on Tuesday said the reason for adding Tomohiro Okada as Universal director was to “strengthen the company’s business activities in Japan and abroad.”

The statement also confirmed at the Sept. 16 meeting that the dismissal of Universal Entertainment director Jun Fujimoto would be tabled due to a Tokyo High Court ruling that “violated his duty of loyalty or duty of loyalty as a director.”

This follows a shareholder lawsuit seeking compensation for damages caused by Fujimoto’s actions on April 26 this year.

Kazuo Okada has previously challenged Universal Entertainment’s ouster as chairman and director. He has also previously challenged Okada Manila and TRLEI through the Philippine Supreme Court over who or what they should control.

In November last year, the court ruled that Kazuo Okada had been properly removed from TRLEI.
