The Education on the Prevention of Injury of Elite Athletes with RP Sports Center and GC SpoCare

Samsung Life Insurance completed its last schedule of the two-night, three-day “2024 Dreams Come True” camp at the Samsung Training Center in Yongin on the 10th. The event, which was first held in 2017, is a program where Samsung Life Insurance players and high school elite athletes train and mentor together. Twenty-seven elite athletes from Sookmyung Girls’ High School, Bundang Management High School, and Chuncheon Girls’ High School participated.

On the morning of the 3rd day of the camp, the camp was completed with injury prevention training for elite athletes. First, starting with the “Injury Prevention & Nutrition and Recovery” theory training by Kim Hyung-chul, CEO of the RP Sports Center, there was a correct ankle taping practice with taping prepared by Cho Sung-geun, head of GC SpoCare. Finally, I learned warm-up exercises and stretching to prevent injuries.

RP CEO Kim Hyung-chul previously trained in injury prevention training programs with KBL and Sejong Sports orthopedics, and donated talent as a professional trainer to find amateur players. CEO Kim has worked as a trainer for the Samsung Thunder for the past 18 years, and recently went to international competitions and friendly matches between Korea and Japan as a national basketball trainer.

“We have provided training for male athletes. This is the first time for female athletes,” Kim said. “Female basketball players are more vulnerable to knee injuries than men. The number of injuries is up to two to eight times that of ordinary people. Jeong Chae-won of the U18 national team recently suffered a knee injury, and since then, he has emphasized prevention and prevention training for female athletes as management and rehabilitation are important. It was good that Samsung Life Insurance provided a good opportunity and provided training to female elite athletes to prevent injury.”

He added, “Amateur teams do not have trainers, so they are vulnerable to injury and dangerous. If you go to the Korea Basketball Association, there is an injury prevention training. I hope you will pay close attention to these training sessions.” 무료슬롯사이트

In addition, GC SpoCare sponsored taping worth 1.5 million won (4,800 U.S. dollars) per team. “I have a lot of interest in basketball and like it. Many amateur players have different taping methods, but I hope they learn the right taping method and prevent injury,” said Cho Seong-geun, head of GC SpoCare.

Coach Lee Eun-hye of Sookmyung Girls’ High School said, “It is a really necessary item. Many players tap their ankles to prevent injury, but in fact, it is difficult for them to personally bear the financial burden. We will use the sponsored taping correctly so that the players can show good performance without injury in the remaining competitions.”

On the other hand, this camp has special meaning for Chuncheon Girls’ High School. Until now, Chuncheon Girls’ High School has not had special contact with professional teams and has not had a chance to mentoring them. However, I was invited to Samsung Life’s Dreams Come True for the first time this year and made many memories.

“It was a good time for young players who are dreaming of becoming professionals with the interest of Samsung Life Insurance,” said Kim Young-min, coach of Chuncheon Girls’ High School. “It was a meaningful and good time for high school players, but the reaction was even better for Bongui Middle School players. Young players liked this camp, asking if they would be able to participate next year or the year after. I hope there will be more opportunities like this in the future.”

The Dreams Come True camp, which celebrated its fifth anniversary, promised the next event with a satisfactory event for Samsung Life Insurance, elite athletes who participated, and professional trainers.
