‘Missed 266 games due to injury in the past five seasons’ Yankees injured again…Expected to miss 4 weeks due to hamstring injury

“Giancarlo Stanton (New York Yankees) overhauled his cardiovascular workout program to avoid being on the injured list last offseason,” MLBcom said on Monday (Korea time). “The Yankees’ slugger had good luck before he left the game on Monday due to a sprained left hamstring.”

According to MLBcom, Stanton is on the 10-day IL ahead of his showdown with the Atlanta Braves in the 2024 Major League Baseball at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York on Monday. He has been on the IL eight times in the past six seasons.

After the game, Yankees manager Aaron Boone called Stanton’s injury “a minor injury,” but he is unlikely to play for about four weeks.

Last season, Stanton missed 43 games with a sprained left hamstring. “It’s not about emotions right now, it’s going to be about four weeks. I have to do what I can to get there.” 토토사이트 순위

Stanton hit a double as a leadoff hitter in the bottom of the fourth inning against Atlanta on the 23rd. Gleyber Torres then hit an RBI double, which apparently injured Stanton on his way home from third base.

“Stanton has missed 266 games over the past five seasons due to several injuries, including right biceps and right knee posterior cruciate ligament injury (2019), left hamstring sprain (2020), left quadriceps sprain (2021), right ankle inflammation and left Achilles tendinitis (2022), and left hamstring sprain (2023),” MLBcom said.

With Stanton sidelined due to injury, various players are expected to be designated hitters. “I will cycle a few more through the designated hitter position,” Boone said. “Maybe Aaron Judge will step up to the position a little more.”

This season, Stanton has played in 69 games, recording 64 hits, 18 homers, 45 RBIs, 34 runs, 20 walks, 90 strikeouts, and a batting average of 0.246 OPS of 0.794.
